Wayne County Public Schools is Hiring a Summer camp teacher Near Goldsboro, NC
Summer Arts Camp
Charles B. Aycock High
July 15-18, 2024
Summer Arts Camp is a 4-day summer camp for middle school band students for 75 rising 7th through 9th grade Wayne County Public School students.
Camp will be offered in 3 consecutive weeks, first at Rosewood High, then at Charles B. Aycock High, and finally at Southern Wayne High or an alternate site, to be determined .
Students will be immersed in improving mastery of their instruments, working in both large ensembles and small sectional groups.
There will be 5 teacher allotments for each camp. Staff are responsible for working Monday-Friday from 8 : 00 am - 1 : 00 pm.
Camp begins each day for students at 8 : 30 am and ends at 12 : 00 pm. Camp will be offered in 3 consecutive weeks, first at Rosewood High, then at Charles B.
Aycock High, and finally at Southern Wayne High or an alternate site, to be determined . This position is part of this set of camps being offered, and applicants may apply to work more than one camp as long as they are not in conflict with one another.
Responsibilities
Teachers are responsible for providing instruction to students on their instruments, and conducting repertoire for a closing concert on the last day.
Teachers work in collaboration with others on the team to choose repertoire and make arrangements for conducting, teaching, and supervision.
They facilitate all student learning experiences throughout the camp, ensuring a safe and productive environment is maintained.
Minimum Education / Experience Required
- Current WCPS teacher, instructional coach, or administrator
- Prior experience teaching and conducting band programs
- Able to lead others through tasks
- Able to work independently and without supervision
